Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Philip Southcote School.
To apply to become a volunteer with us the process is slightly different depending on which type of volunteering you would like to do – either in school during the school day, on trips or with our PFA to help with events.

Volunteer Application Form
Please can you complete the Volunteer Application Form or you can get a paper version from the school office.

Volunteer Interview
If you want to help in school during the school day, it may be necessary to attend a short interview with one of our senior leaders or safeguarding leads. We will contact you to arrange this if it is necessary.

Enhanced DBS
If you already have an Enhanced DBS, that is registered with the Update Service, you may be able to use that to volunteer with us. Please bring it into the school office, along with one form of photo ID (passport or driving licence), and we can check it for you. If not, please follow these instructions on how to apply for a DBS.

Volunteer Policy
You must read, sign and agree to adhere to our Volunteer Policy. You can get a paper version to sign from the school office.

Annual Safeguarding Training
All volunteers must complete our Safeguarding training every 12 months. Please contact us if there is anything you are not sure about, or if you have questions about the training.

Online Training Courses x2
If you want to volunteer in school during the school day you will need to complete 2 online training courses. You will receive a welcome email from Tes/Educare to set up your account. You will find the following courses by searching in the ‘All courses’ section by clicking the link at the top of the page:

‘Child Protection in Education’ (there is a short refresher course to be completed annually going forward)
